Why do most developers prefer a Linux Environment?

I’ve been into hobby programming, and some professional programming, and often i have seen developers use linux environment for developing their projects. I extensively use C#, C++ and Python and i never found need to run a linux machine for my code. Visual Studio Does it all for me, along with powershell and windows, i never find need of anything else. Can any body enlighten me on this?.......... Read More

An interesting Management Lesson – Phook Theory

The literal meaning of the Punjabi word, ‘phook’ is air  pressure. Metaphorically, it is used to describe an ego-state. Thus, if someone is hogging a lot of ‘phook’, he is ‘gassed’ or brash. .......... Read More

Emphatic victory for India Inc!

I am complete antagonist for the political system in India. My feeling was that the polls are all rigged and are bought by fooling people. They are given false promises, given wrong excuses and paid bribe to get the vote bank filled. The political scenario really had been a choice between the bad and worse! So i opted to be out of the scene by not voting. Deep within i didn’t want BJP to win, but then again i admit i was at fault by thinking what can a single vote of mine do. .......... Read More

Helpful people at the Hyderabad Airport

I’m blogging live from the GMR Hyderabad Airport. I arrived at the airport by taking the aeroexpress bus from hitech city at 6.30 pm. Reached here prompt at 7.30 PM. I checked in safe and fine and had started to use the free 45 mins wifi internet, when it occured to me that i’ve left my jacket in the bus or at the airport outside the waiting lounge..! what could i do i thought.. I logged into hyderabad airport’s website. Got their helpdesk number, called them and told them my problem. He patiently assested me and instructed me to come outside at the checkin and ask the people there. I took my boarding pass and asked the security ppl if they saw any jacket, after the negative reply i requested them to let me through to the check in counter so that i can ask there. He marked an entry on my boarding pass and allowed me through. The jacket was not at the checkin counter as well, so i asked the airport helpdesk to help me out. He called the aeroexpress counter, and asked me for the ticket i had taken to take the bus..luckily i had the ticket with me, and after some 10 minutes of anxious waiting it seemed the jacket was there in the bus and they had collected it..in no time i got my jacket back! I take this opportunity to thank the Airport and the administration and the whole management to help me out. I reall y appreciate the courteous behaviour of the airport people............ Read More

Some random thoughts…

Today i was in one of those moods where i think aloud about myself and the people around me. I find chaos, uncertainty, lack of trust, rapidness everywhere. Each one of us is scared of the unknown, the future. As the world has shrunk to 3 windows on the computer screen – The IM Windows, the EMAIL window and the FACEBOOK window, we are suddenly connected with so many people like never before, and yet at the same time we are so much addicted to it that, it gets so hard to disconnect ourselves with our virtual lives. Gone are the days of spending some time together with your long last friend. .......... Read More
